This year’s WGC Accenture Match Play Championship brings together the top 64 ranked players in the world as of the 10th of February 2025. With the golf event once more being played at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain, Marana, Arizona it boasts a yardage of just under 7,800 yards. A monster in anyone’s eyes. For betting purposes it may pay to look for one of the longer hitters in the field. The 64 players are separated into four sections affectionately named after some of the great golfing heroes from previous generations.

The world number one Rory Mcllroy heads the Bobby Jones section and faces Shane Lowry who is a late replacement for Phil Mickleson. In the Ben Hogan section Louis Oosthuizen is top seed and in the two other sections Tiger heads the Gary Player section and Englishman Luke Donald is top seed in the Sam Snead section. The other absentee is inform Brandt Snedeker, with Fredrik Jacobson taking his place.

The format is match play with each winner advancing to the next round. The first round takes place on Wednesday 20th February. All 64 players will be chasing a top prize of $1,400,000. But with a total prize fund of $8,500,000 there is plenty of money to be won with first round losers picking up a healthy $45,000. There are also 550 Fed Ex Cup points to the winner.

Last Year’s winner Hunter Mahan is drawn against the young Italian Matteo Manassero and comes into the event in good form after a high finish (T80) at The Northern Trust Open last week.

Our golf tips for the WGC Accenture Match Play should come as no surprise to anyone with Charl Schwartzel in the best form of his life with six top 5′s including two wins you can get a very generous 20/1 with Bet365.
