Premier League Fixtures 1stOctober 2025
Everton v Liverpool
This is the first big derby of the weekend and I expect some fireworks.
Liverpool has had a good record at Goodison in recent years with 7 out of 12 wins but I can't see them winning there this year. Their still not playing with any fluidity and I can see Everton frustrating them. Liverpool do tend to give away silly free kicks and that's the only way I see Everton scoring. So all in all 1-1 might be the score to go for or less then 2.5 goals. Another bet would be on a red card been shown as I can see Saurez or Carroll boiling over if all's not going well.
Result 0-2 : Loss
Blackburn v Man City
Expect an almighty backlash from City against a struggling Blackburn. The City camp might not be all nice and cosy but Mancini will surely have strong words with his all stars and expect a response. Over 4 goals in the game. It's also worth looking at this been Steve Kean's last game in charge of Blackburn, a heavy defeat could well be the nail in the coffin.
Result 4-0 : Win £27.50
Sunderland v West Brom
A horrible match to call and to drag any value out of. They have only managed 2 wins in 12 games between them and look set to draw. The onus will be on Sunderland to attack and bounce back from their defeat at Norwich but they look a bit toothless up front.
Result 2-2 : Loss
Aston Villa v Wigan
This is a game that McLeish hopes will kick start Villa's season after drawing 5 of their 6 premiership games. A draw won't be good enough for the Villa faithful so they'll be pushing for the win. Wigan haven't exactly started great either and have only managed 1 point away from home at Swansea.
Result 2-0 : Loss
Man Utd v Norwich
Utd are another team that will be expecting a response from their previous 2 draws, which equates to poor form by their standards. Norwich will be in buoyant mood after beating Sunderland on Monday night, which took them to 9th place. They have some tidy players with good speed and are capable of causing a few problems to any team. Monday night was the first game that they didn't concede a penalty in this season. That's an astonishing 5 in a row previously. Another one could well be on the cards at the Theatre of Dreams. Utd should coast through and I expect Nani to be on the score sheet as Rooney and Hernandez are still doubtful.
Result 2-0 : Win £50
Wolves v Newcastle
Wolves are still living off their fine start of winning both games, since then they have drawn 1 and lost the last 3 including 2 at home to Spurs and QPR with out scoring. Newcastle on the other hand have been the surprise package of the premiership and can cement their top 4 position with an away win.
Result 1-2 : Win £30
Bolton v Chelsea
Bolton are the surprise anchor team having lost 5 of their 6 games so far. I can only imagine that it will be 1 in 7 after the visit of Chelsea. The blue's new expansive style should bear fruits at the Reebok and with Torres suspended expect Drogba to supply the goals.
Swansea vs Stoke City
Every game is tough in the Premiership and even more so for the new boys. Swansea have held their own in places this season and can't be knocked for losing to Chelsea 4-1 but I think Stoke will be too strong for them. Stoke have nullified far better playing football sides and always create chances so an away win is on the cards.
Result 2-0 : Loss
Fulham v QPR
The second big Derby of the weekend see's the two West London teams clash. Fulham have drawn their last three games and have only scored 4 goals all season. QPR haven't lost in three games and playing away might just suit them at the moment with the likes of Wright Philips and Taarabt. QPR might just silence The Cottage.
Result 6-0 : Loss
Tottenham v Arsenal
The last of the weekends Derby's that set up to be a corker. I can't see Spur's losing this one. It will be interesting to see what team Harry plays on Thursday night in the Europa league, I imagine it will be very different to Sunday. Wenger can't really afford to rest his players due to the importance of his clash and his injury woes. Don't be surprised if Adebayor scores against his old team again.
Result 2-1 : Win £22.50
