Football tips for weekend 1st March and football bets review from last week
Our featured football tips trixie blew out big time with all 3 failing to win for only the second time this season. Burnley played better then their position suggested and Southampton failed to win their 7th out of eight games. Austin gave Burnley the lead in the 53rd minute with his 4th goal in as many games. Southampton had a shed load of opportunities to score but failed until the 80th minute when Schneiderlin found the net from close range.
Bury Scuppered us against MK Dons holding out for a 0-0 draw and their first point in 5 games. The Dons had 4 or 5 good chances in the first half and 2 sitters in the second but it was Bury who nearly snatched all 3 point forcing David Martin into a fine save in the last minute from a one on one with Andy Bishop.
I must say I wasn't too please when I found out Dean Saunders was to take over as the New Doncaster manager after Sean O'Driscoll allegedly got the Tic Tack via a text message. I do try keeping clear of such situations as previous form goes out the window. And yes it was proven once again as Doncaster picked up their first win in 19 games beating Crystal Palace One Nil. It was John Oster's first goal in 18 months, which was enough. The goal was well worth the wait as he took the ball up in his own half before unleashing a drive from 30 yards, which flew into the net.
Just as well my football tips for the second trixie payed off with a double as Spurs comfortably beat Wigan 2-1 with van de vaart and Bale scoring. Hartlepool came from behind to beat Bournemouth with Nobby Solano scoring a free kick from 25 yards cancelling out Steven Gregory drive also from 25 yards. It was Evan Horwood who came off the bench to extend Hartlepool’s unbeaten run with an 87th minute.
It was Sheffield Utd who once again let us down by losing to Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 who had lost all their previous five games without scoring. It was Beavon who scored the only goal in the 31st minute which Utd had no rely for
This weekends football tips
Cracking on with the football tips trixie this week with another 3 away wins to try get some value.
The first choice is Oldham (24/13) to beat Exeter away from home. Exeter have only 1 point and 1 goal in the last five games. Oldham did lose to Brentford at home during the week but won their previous 2 away games against similar placed opposition (Walsall and Leyton Orient).
The 2nd choice is Preston (1/1) to Beat Leyton Orient away from home. Preston look like real candidates for the league 1 title and have won 3 of their 4 away games so far. The Orient prop up the table with no wins and only 3 draws in 10 games. They did well to come from behind last week against Huddersfield scoring 2 in the last five minutes but I can see 2 divisions between these two teams next season.
I agonized over my third choice as I had a few left in my breakdown. Finally going for Carlisle (19/10) to beat Walsall away from home who have a decent away record. Carlisle have only won 2 of their last 5 games, but the losses have come against Chesterfield, Mk Dons and Hartlepool who are all in form teams. Walsall on the other hand are in free fall having only recorded 1 point in March during 5 games.
It's a brave trixie with 2 teams around the 2/1 mark but should yeald a great return.
Another 3 for the mix is Northampton to beat Barnet, Chesterfield to beat Colchester and Oxford to beat Hereford.
