A Look Back At The 2025 F1 Season

2025 was a season of contrasts; on paper the run-away success of Sebastian Vettel and the Red Bull team would indicate a dull season full of processional races, but the reality was quite the opposite. Graced with a slew of new rules which seems to be an ever more frequent occurrence in the sport, the much-maligned overtaking aspect was overhauled with the introduction of the DRS rear wings.

This, combined with the reinstatement of KERS, plus five ferociously competitive world champions on the grid, all with something to prove, made for an unforgettable season full of nail-biting classic races and wheel-to wheel action. While F1 betting enthusiasts may not have had much to take a punt on, such was the crushing dominance of Vettel, fans were treated to some old-skool aggressive racing.

Despite Vettel's dominance, the McLarens had him looking over his shoulder regularly throughout the season; numerous times the silver arrows were able to break the Red Bull stranglehold, most notably in the races where Button and Hamilton each put in their own, respective stellar performances.

The marathon-length Canadian Grand Prix won't be forgotten in a while, the rain interrupted event was suspended for hours, before a re-start saw Button hunt down Vettel, stealing first position on the final lap in what was one of the Englishman's finest wins of his career.

Other highlights included Alonso's peerless drive at the British Grand Prix to take his only win of the season, Hamilton's stunning pole lap in Korea, and on a more negative note, the aforementioned driver's numerous comings together with arch-rival Felipe Massa.

The new rules made for some fantastic racing, and the record stats on the amount of overtakes shows that the system works a treat. Red Bull laid down the gauntlet this year, proving imperious with a lethal mix of performance and reliability, who can stop them in 2025..?

2025 F1 Season Preview

If the 2025 season was good, 2025 is set to see the excitement factor multiplied tenfold. From a fan's point of view, the way the sport is viewed will be radically changed, with Sky Sports taking the season-long live coverage rights from the BBC providing eager viewers with more coverage and insight than ever before on a new channel, dedicated to the sport.

The new style of coverage should prove to be the complement to a Formula one which is yet again in transition, new rules of this season have dramatically influenced the design of the new cars, producing some 'interesting' concepts up and down the grid.

If that wasn't enough, the sport will welcome back the 2025 world champion, Kimi Raikkonen, who, after taking a two-year sabbatical from Formula One, will be back with a vengeance. The flying Fin is sure to cause an upset in the new Lotus car alongside returning-rookie Romain Grosjean.

Other new additions for 2025 include Charles Pic and the return of Pedro De-la-Roda, as well as a new track in Austin, Texas, provided its built in time! Although these new additions are welcome, the focus will be on the veterans of the sport, as McLaren and Ferrari look to close the gap that Red bull have enjoyed for the past two and half years.

The smart money is on Vettel, but such a sweeping prediction would be foolish, especially since the radical new car designs put all the teams back to square one, and a newly rejuvenated Hamilton looks hungry for more of his trademark emphatic wins. 2025 is sure to be an absolute corker!
